We love these Bench Womens Boots and we also love the grunge trend this spring! Pair them with skinny jeans or a dress, and think dark colours, check patterns, and quirky details.
Here are some of our favourite items to team up with the Bench Boots.

Recently we told you about our in-house photographer Sarah who’s now sadly left us to go on a trip of a lifetime. Sarah’s currently trekking in Chiang Mai and has started her travel blog and we can’t recommend it highly enough - not only for the delicious cultural details but also Sarah’s excellent photography. Those of you who’ve been lucky enough to visit the same part of the world will enjoy a trip down memory lane, and for the rest of us – well we can have a fabulous armchair trip of our own
Sarah’s blog is here so add it to your favourites; we’ll be reproducing our favourite bits on this blog too so you definitely won’t miss out
Let’s leave you with a taster from Day 1 of the trek:
“…Due to all the rain it was a pretty trecherous journey, and as most of it was downhill there were a few slips and a few wet bums too (this was to be the trend for the next few days). A couple of hours and a few leeches later we arrived at the village where we would stay for the night. It was absolutely beautiful, coming down from the top of the hill we could see a misty mountain dotted with little bamboo huts surrounded by rice fields. We sat around a fire and took off our shoes and socks in an attempt to dry them out before another day of hiking and were warned about checking for scorpions and leeches in our boots for the morning. Dinner was delicious, cooked in front of us we had a mix of rice, curries, vegetable dishes and meats, the flavours were amazing. After dinner with rum/chang in hand we joined together in a circle to sing along to people playing the guitar with a mix of local songs to Bob Marley and Oasis, it was a lovely end to a great day and we were soon tucked up in bed protected by mosquito nets and ready to sleep. The jungle is loud at night and with all the rain fall the river close by was rushing and so sleeping was difficult.”
Well we’ve been a bit quiet lately, but that’s only because we’re HUGELY busy photographing and adding amazing new items for the winter season! But we promise we’ll be back really soon with all the news on our new gear, including some off-the-scale-brilliant snow wear.
In the meantime we wanted to share our Monday excitement in getting a little mention in Zoo magazine, courtesy of the awesome guys at Volcom. If you want to get your mitts on the Caswell Gilet then it’s available here at Rip101 (free UK delivery too!).
This week the guys from Rip101 and our St Peter Port store headed to a local restaurant situated at Vazon Bay on the west coast of Guernsey (incidentally the favourite haunt of the Guernsey Surfer), to wish our in-house photographer Sarah ‘bon voyage’ on her forthcoming world trip. Famed for its west coast sunset, this was a stunning location for a group get-together.

On the menu were oysters, steaks, seafood cooked at the table on hot stones, and pasta dishes, all washed down with Pimms, white wine and a few other beverages
Oh and we just HAVE to mention dessert, which came in the form of a gargantuan dish of vanilla and chocolate ice cream, whipped cream, toffee sauce and wafers, and was supplied with 12 spoons

During her time at Rip101, Sarah’s come up with some inspirational work and has even been featured in a recent Quiksilver publication; fortunately she’s promised to send us ‘blogcards’ from her travels, and we’ll be bringing you all her news (and no doubt some amazing shots!) as they come in. This time next week Sarah will be in Bangkok on the first leg of her travels, so from all of us at Rip101 and Sail or Surf, all the best Sarah!
